Features
Discord-ready mixing
Routes sound clips through a virtual audio cable while mixing in your real microphone, so you can talk and play sounds at the same time.
Now on Linux New
A native Linux build is here — not Wine. PipeWire creates the virtual cable automatically, no driver install needed. See the download page for details and current limitations.
Global hotkeys
Trigger sounds while another app has focus without blocking the assigned key there.
Clip editor
Waveform preview with start/end trimming, fade-in/out, categories, and one-click volume normalization.
Profiles & categories
Keep separate boards for different games or servers, filter by category, and search across a large sound library.
Portable boards
Import and export whole boards as a single .soundboard.zip package
to move or share them.
Runs in the tray
Keeps sounds, hotkeys, and mic passthrough running in the background, with optional launch at Windows sign-in.
Requirements
Windows
- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
- VB-Audio Virtual Cable (free) — lets SoundBoard route audio into Discord or any other app
- No .NET install needed — the published build is self-contained
Linux Beta
- 64-bit desktop Linux with PipeWire (the default on current Fedora, Ubuntu, Arch, and most others)
- No runtime install needed — the published build is self-contained
- KDE Plasma 6+ or GNOME 45+ recommended for background/global hotkeys — sounds still trigger from hotkeys while SoundBoard itself is focused on any desktop
Getting started
Windows: Install VB-Audio Virtual Cable, point Discord's input device at
CABLE Output, then open SoundBoard and set your microphone, headphones,
and CABLE Input in the three device dropdowns.
Linux: No driver to install — SoundBoard creates a
SoundBoard_Cable virtual sink itself on first launch. Point Discord's
input device at SoundBoard_Mic, then set Discord Output to
SoundBoard_Cable in SoundBoard.
Then, on either platform: add some MP3/WAV/OGG files with "+ Add Sound", assign hotkeys, and you're set.
